Cyndy Hall Scholarship Announcement
December 26,2020

Cyndy Hall was a long-time resident of Claverack, music teacher in the Hudson school system, active member of the Columbia County Democratic Party, wonderful daughter, sister and friend.

Cyndy died July 25, 2018 and is still missed by family, students, residents, friends and neighbors.

Members of her family have initiated an endowed scholarship in Cyndy's name that will benefit Hudson City School District graduates attending a 4 year College or University, majoring in music or education. Recipients should have a B average and be active in community service.

The scholarship will be administered by Hudson Dollars for Scholars (HDFS) and they will select recipients as part of their ongoing scholarship program. Fund status, recipients and donors will be found on the HDFS website.

$10,000 has been pledged and another $10,000 is available to match other donations.  The goal is a $30,000 endowment that will generate around $1,000 per year in awards.

Donations should be made to Hudson Dollars for Scholars designated for the Cyndy Hall Scholarship.  You can mail your donation to Hudson Dollars for Scholars, PO Box 1048, Hudson, NY12534. Hudson Dollars for Scholars is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Note: starting in 2020, up to $300 in charitable donations can be deducted from your federal tax calculation even if you use the standard deduction.  See Section 2104 of the CARES Act.
